Part-time History teaching available at UEL

The History team at UEL is looking for part-time sabbatical cover on several modules in the coming year. Details will be up for discussion, but broadly speaking this is the picture:

  • teaching will be mainly focused on the 19th and 20th centuries, with a broadly cultural history approach; knowledge of debates in memory and heritage studies and/ or London history would also be useful
  • there is likely to be some work across the full academic year, starting at the end of September, but the main contribution is needed from January to May
  • load will be variable, but usually 2-6 hours a week
  • classes last for 2 hours, mostly with around 30 students, and are a mixture of lecture and seminar; there will also be some undergraduate dissertation supervision

We are looking for someone (or possibly two people) with relevant subject knowledge, teaching experience (including marking) and ideally experience of supervision.

If you’re interested please send a letter and CV asap to Toby Butler, History programme leader: t.butler@uel.ac.uk.
