For a proposed anthology under review at Routledge, Breaking the Wave:
Women Organizing in the United States, 1945 to 1985, we are seeking essays
that examine women’s activism from diverse perspectives and in various
locations before, during, and after mass-based feminist organizing in the
United States. We are particularly interested in including essays on the
women’s health movement of the 1960s to 1980s; lesbian activism in the
context of the women’s movement; feminist activism among women of color;
as well as pieces that explore transnational feminism.
Please submit a one-page, single-space abstract that presents an overview
of how your essay broadens our understanding of feminism and how your
research challenges the waves metaphor. Please submit your abstract to the
editors by October 15.
