Call for nominations for the History Lab Committee
To be elected at the AGM, 26th June 2008, 12.30-1.150pm

The History Lab invites nominations for those wishing to serve on the
History Lab committee for the forthcoming academic year 2008/9. As elected
member of the committee you will be expected to attend meetings (approx.5
per year), promote the History Lab within your university and the wider
postgrad community and attend and help out at History Lab events run
throughout the year at the Institute of Historical Research. Committee
members will be required to serve for a minimum of one academic year.
The following roles are available on the committee:
Events Officer: to organise room bookings, catering and RSVP’s for all
History Lab events. Membership Officer: to keep the membership database and
mailing list up to date and inform IHR webmaster of any changes to the
website. Postgraduate Liaison Officer: To promote History Lab events to
the wider postgrad constituency, including history departments other
postgrad networks. Chairperson (from Dec 2008): Duties include chairing
meetings, circulating the History Lab newsletter and liaising with the IHR.
Additional Committee Members: You will have not specific duties but will
expected to attend meetings and help out at History Lab events. Please
note that all HL events take place at the Institute of Historical Research,
central London although this should not prevent those who reside outside of
the M25 from getting involved in the committee.

Please note that committee members will be elected at the History Lab’s AGM
on the 26th June. This meeting will be held during the lunchtime on the
first day of the History Lab conference. If you are unable to attend the
meeting but would still like to be considered, please let me know in
advance. For those able to attend the meeting, please note that it is not
necessary to register for the conference to attend the AGM, however if you
