L’HOMME. Europaeische Zeitschrift fuer Feministische
Geschichtswissenschaft / European Journal for Feminist History was first
published in 1990. L’HOMME is mainly covering the period from the Middle
Ages to the present and focuses on the concept of a Europe with open
The journal serves as an interface between various linguistic and
academic cultures; therefore translations are welcomed as encouragement
of transnational approaches to Women’s and Gender History. L’HOMME is
published in German and English.
The journal consciously positions itself as an interdisciplinary project
within the disciplines of History and Feminist Studies and participates
in central discussions and controversies. The journal is peer reviewed
and accompanied by the two book series, L’HOMME /Schriften/ and L’HOMME
/Archiv/. The editors come from seven different European countries.
We are pleased to present the current issue of L’HOMME
on servants (German and English) and the
anthology “Women’s Movements. Networks and Debates in Post-Communist
Countries in the 19th and 20th Century” (English).
